Privacy Policy
Read this app-specific document with the Ezysphere Privacy Policy. It describes WeSynk Player; the general document supplies the shared provisions. This document controls app-specific details, but never overrides mandatory rights or the general consumer protections.
Local playback and optional network features
WeSynk scans and plays media on your device using the permissions you grant. Local media, playlists, bookmarks and preferences are held on the device. Playing a local video does not itself upload the video to us. Network features described below can send metadata or content when used; local playback does not mean every app feature is offline.
Identity, playback sync and social features
When online features are enabled, WeSynk uses device/install identifiers, a chosen handle, room membership and session data to operate its backend. Supabase handles identity/handle records, room admission, real-time features, feedback and related cloud records. Watch Together sends playback commands, media names, reactions and any voice notes you choose to share. Participants can see or receive session information and may record it independently.
Cross-device resume: when you have a claimed handle and online sync operates, the app sends the handle, content key, video name, playback position, duration and update time to Supabase. Consequently some viewing metadata leaves your device, even though the original video is not uploaded for local playback.
Voice notes are encrypted before upload for delivery to session participants. Encryption does not hide all routing metadata or prevent a participant from retaining a recording. Expiry and cleanup are intended to make clips short-lived; immediate erasure from every server, backup, cache or recipient device is not guaranteed.
Other online features and providers
- Notifications: when configured, OneSignal initialises with a device ID and processes push subscription/device information. Operating-system permission controls displaying notifications; declining it does not necessarily prevent initial SDK registration.
- Subtitles and transcription: search text, language and the data needed for a requested online operation go to the WeSynk backend and relevant provider, including OpenSubtitles for subtitle search and Groq for AI transcription. Transcription extracts and uploads audio segments through the backend; generated subtitles are cached locally. Review the feature prompt before submitting media or audio.
- Diagnostics: optional diagnostic reports can include device/app information, errors and technical context. Avoid including sensitive media names in reports.
- Feedback: feature votes and comments use device identifiers; board comments can be visible to other users. Do not put private information in public feedback.
- Local file transfer and casting: media you choose to share is served to the receiving browser, device or cast receiver on your network. This is a separate flow from cloud watch-session sync.
Choices, retention and security
Settings > Privacy & Security provides offline and feature controls and data request actions. These controls apply to the features they describe; operating-system notification permission is distinct from processing by the push SDK. Network providers receive IP addresses and request metadata. Local browser transfers or casting may use local HTTP, so do not assume all local-network traffic is end-to-end encrypted. Use trusted networks and close sharing sessions when finished.
Local media and preferences remain until you remove them or clear app storage, subject to exported files and backups. Handles, resume records, feedback and service records remain while needed to operate the relevant feature, resolve requests or meet legal obligations. Ask for deletion before discarding the device identifier needed to locate your records. The general policy describes other retention criteria and international processing.
Your choices, rights and deletion
You may request access, correction, deletion, export, restriction or objection as applicable, withdraw consent for processing that relies on it, and complain to a data protection authority. Use our data request page or email us. We verify requests proportionately and respond within the applicable legal deadline. Removing an app does not delete information already held by a server or another recipient. Device backups and files exported to shared folders may remain.
Contact apps@ezysphere.com. Identify the app and your request; never send a password, payment-card number, or an unnecessary sensitive document.
Children
The minimum ages and parental involvement requirements in the general Terms apply. This app is not intended for children below those ages. If a child has supplied information contrary to these rules, a parent or guardian can contact us to request removal. An age statement does not replace legally required parental consent.
